Philosophy For Children
We have introduced Philosophy for Children (P4C) to promote a 'community of enquiry' where children are provided with opportunities to become more accurate, less self contradictory and more aware of others arguments and values before reaching conclusions.
We have a special bear who leads the enquiries called 'Philosophy Bear'. We find that P4C has had far reaching benefits that touch all parts of the curriculum. It has created a climate for learning, increasing motivation, developing communication skills and promoting self confidence and self esteem. The children and families are asked to provide ideas for Philosophy Bear and the children to explore. Here are some of our recent enquiries:
